Recycling News
Attention all tribal members, the City of Stillwater is opening a recycling center. The center is called the Convenience Collection Center. The center will be located at 8th Ave. & Perkins Rd. The grand opening is April 22, 2008. This center will help residents and the surrounding community by providing services from a professionally staffed, drive thru service center. The center will dispose of non-hazardous recyclable goods, household waste and green waste.
There are certain items that will be accepted free of charge and some others with a small fee.
The collection center will also provide 35 gallon blue city bags for $1.50 each to be used for household waste drop off. The items that will be accepted by the collection center are as follows: Aluminum, Automobile batteries, Electronic equipment, glass containers, grass clippings, paper products, passenger car/truck batteries, plastic containers, rechargeable batteries, residential solid waste, tree trimmings, scrap metals, steel or tin cans, used antifreeze, used cooking oil, and used motor oil. The few items that are prohibited are as follows: Ammunition, construction debris, hazardous waste, explosive materials, and items prohibited by law, medical waste, and non recyclable commercial waste.
