Tribal Child Care Assistance Program
Our program assists eligible families with their financial obligation for childcare.

The Childcare Assistance Program is funded by a Federal Grant through the Department of Human Services and Administration for Children & Families. Certain requirements of the Child Care Program are necessary because of the federal regulations of the funding source. None of the funds used for child care assistance are tribal monies.
The purpose of the Child Care Assistance Program is to increase the availability, affordability, and quality of child care services in the 3 counties of the ITO service area. We serve Native American children under 13 years of age.
Our program permits parents to choose from a broad range of providers licensed by the State of Oklahoma. These homes and centers are monitored by the state DHS workers and bythe ITO Early Childhood Director to ensure standards for health, safety and quality are maintained.
The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Child Care Assistance Program has deemed it necessary to develop minimum requirements for parents who have the primary responsibility for monitoring their child’s care, the ITO monitoring representatives provides an additional level of protection through on-site inspections, technical assistance, and consultation with those who provide child care.
