In conjunction with the Economic Development Plan, the Office of Environmental Services is developing a Comprehensive Plan for Tribal land use. This plan will define how Tribal lands should be developed over the next ten years.

The Office of Environmental Services is developing a Comprehensive Plan for Tribal land use. Sections of The Comprehensive Plan will evaluate areas such as population projections, economic data, housing, community resources, the natural environment, cultural preservation, transportation, and existing land utilization. From these sections, a fully developed land use plan will be developed which will define how Tribal lands should be developed. The Plan will cover a ten-year window, be reviewed annually, and updated every two years.

The Comprehensive Plan is a valid document on which to base land use rules, such as zoning and sub-division regulations, as well as a guide to aid in the efficient use of Tribal resources, such as capital improvement programs, housing plans and budgets. This plan is closely associated with Economic Development.
