Zachary L. Butler Environmental Scientist/Solid Waste Coordinator, has worked for the Iowa Tribe since January 2008. Zach has a B.S. in Agronomy from OSU, and has worked for NRCS as an intern. Zach developed a "Solid Waste Management Plan" to clean up the garbage dumps that plague tribal lands. Zach has been involved with recycling programs and would like to see a transfer station developed to serve the Iowa Tribe and the City of Perkins. Zach has volunteered to assist the tribe with any environmental issues that arise to protect and serve tribal natural resources.
Jimmy Gibson Aviary Assistant and Iowa Tribal Member, started working at the Grey Snow Eagle House in February 2008. His duties include daily care of the non-releasable and rehab eagles, catching eagles, and conducting tours. Jimmy is working to get his Eagle Handler's permit from US FWS.
Ronnie (Sonny) Goodeagle Jr. Horsebarn Assistant, has been working with the horse program since June 2009. Sonny has a long history of horse experience. Sonny started riding at the age of 3 or 4 years old. He competed in Rodeos from the age of 6 to 22, participating in bareback riding and bull riding. Sonny was a member of the Indian Rodeo Association and the Sac and Fox Round Up Club. From 1989 to 1998 he lived in Colorado and packed horses for the US Forest Service into the Aspen area. Sonny's father was a professional cowboy and his Grandfather, Kenneth Goodeagle was an entertainer for the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show in Pawnee, OK during the early 1900s.
Ken Knight Agricultural Specialist, has been working for the Iowa Tribe since October 2006. His duties include management of the cattle and bison herds; as well as all agricultural operations carried out by the tribe. These include prescribed burns, limited pesticide applications, animal husbandry, and hay production. Ken has a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Sciences from Texas A&M University.
Vickie Kujawa Director of Environmental Services, came to the Iowa Tribe in August 2009. Vickie has been working in "environmental protection" for 28 years and with tribes for the last 9 years. She received the 2006 DeCouteau Award from EPA for the Water Quality Program that she developed for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. She served as the EPA Region 8 representative to the Tribal Science Council from 2004-2008, and in October 2009, she was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Tribal Pesticide Program Council.
Ken McClellan Horse Barn Manager and Iowa Tribal Member, has worked with the Equine Program since it began in February 2008. Ken began riding at the age of five, and has spent most of his life working with horses. He has experienced the life of a cowboy in the rodeo arena, riding rough stock saddle bronc horses and bulls. Ken still enjoys team roping when possible. In the past couple of years Ken has managed to train, condition, and evaluate the 9 head of horses the Iowa Tribe currently has in the equine program. Ken has used volunteer riders throughout the summer and fall to exercise and condition the horses. Next summer Ken will be teaching horse care and equitation to the Iowa youth. Ken has used his quiet “horse whisperer” style to gain the respect of the horses and his staff in the Equine Program.
Ron Osburn Environmental Scientist/Water System Manager, began working for the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Office of Environmental Services in September 2004. Ron retired from the Indian Health Service Office of Environmental Health and Engineering in 1997. Ron continued his career working for the Cherokee Nation for 7 years before accepting his position with the Iowa Tribe. Ron is responsible for monitoring groundwater and maintaining the Tribal water system.
Vic RoubidouxAviary Manager for the Grey Snow Eagle House. Vic has been in this position for 4 years. He takes care of Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles that can be rehabilitated and released back into the wild as well as eagles that are permanently injured and must have a lifelong home.
Vic, an Ioway Tribal Member, has worked for the tribe since 1990 when he was appointed Treasurer for the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. He served in this position for 13 years. During this time, he was also the Chairman for the Repatriation and Sacred Sites Committee for the National Congress of American Indians and the Treasurer for Keeper of the Treasures.
Jake Stunkard Horse Barn Assistant, has worked with the Iowa Equine Program since May 2009. Jake was raised on a limousine cattle ranch in Fairland, Oklahoma and has always been involved in agriculture. Jake has utilized his agricultural experiences and horsemanship skills for recreation and employment opportunities. Jake enjoys team roping and has experience breaking and training horses. Jake has been employed as a ranch hand, and he works custom cattle clipping and fitting during cattle shows. Jake is a senior at OSU and will be receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture in May 2010. Jake's future plans include applying to graduate school and working towards a Masters degree in agriculture that can be used to start a stocker calf operation in Oklahoma.
Karla Swoap Aviary Assistant, started working at the Grey Snow Eagle House as a volunteer 3 days a week in January of 2008. In May 2008 she was hired as an Aviary Assistant. Her duties include daily care of the non-releasable and rehab eagles, conducting tours, and assisting with public outreach. Karla has received training from veterinarians on the rehabilitation of eagles.
Megan Trope Megan Trope is a full-employee at the Grey Snow Eagle House. She graduated in May of 2009 with a B.S. NREM Wildlife Ecology and Management and a minor in Zoology from Oklahoma State University. She has worked at the aviary 3.5 years. Her duties include daily care of the non-releaseable and rehab eagles, catching eagles, conducting tours, creating presentations, and overseeing the internship program.
Whitney Warrior Water Quality Program Manager for the EPA Clean Water Act 106 grant, graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies. Whitney has been with the Tribe since July 2008. Whitney is developing and expanding the Water Laboratory for analyzing water and other parameters required by the program. She completed the 319 Non-Point Source Management Plan and is in the process of applying for funding for that new program. Whitney is involved in the integration of the Tribal Exchange Network with neighboring Tribes. Whitney has taken over with assessment, restoration and clean-up of the Tribal Nature Center and Conservation Area. She is reviewing and updating the Water Quality Standards and Codes for the Tribe. Whitney is also a volunteer with the OES Equine Program and for the Iowa Tribe Fire Department.

Cody Washington Equine Assistant and Iowa Tribal Member, has been with the horse program since October 2009. Cody has been involved with horses and livestock since his first ride at the age of three. Cody grew up riding and breaking horses and even worked with bucking stock. The Washingtons used horses to round up the bucking bulls and cattle. Cody got his experience from his father, Curtis Washington. The Washingtons have participated in rodeos for many years riding and bucking bulls. Cody's father, Curtis has been a big influence in his life. Cody learned to respect and feel comfortable around livestock which make him confident of his ability to break and train horses. Cody is also experienced in the treatment and care of livestock. Cody says, "I have horses of my own that I have broke and trained. I feel solitude when I'm working with horses and when I'm in a country environment. It's what I'm good at and it runs in the family. I'm the last of a dying breed that we're trying to keep alive!"
Joy Yoshioka Natural Resource Scientist, has been employed at the Iowa Tribe since 2004 and has managed several environmental programs. She developed an Integrated Resource Management Plan (IRMP) in 2007 and recently completed a comprehensive management plan for the Tribe's Wildlife Conservation Area. She briefly managed the water pollution control program in 2008 and is currently managing the air quality program. The primary objectives of the air program are to build capacity and update the Tribe's air pollution source inventory list from 2004.
